  • Hendrick’s Gin company has created a stationary bike, the Hendrick’s High Wheel, that beats probably every other stationary bike we’ve seen ... in terms of pizzazz.
  • It features a carved golden fender, a book stand, a pedal-activated light, a horn, and a place to store your bottle of water (or a cocktail).
  • The Hendrick’s High Wheel costs $2,4493.11, and there are only three available in the world. If you want one, you better move quickly.

Have you had enough of tracking your fitness? Are you tired of watch selfies? Do you want instructors to stop bellowing at you through a screen?

The folks at Hendrick’s Gin are with you, and their new stationary bike offers none of the above; just an elegant, decadent indoor ride.

“Frankly speaking, we find the bells and whistles you see on your home-workout equipment today to be entirely unnecessary,” Vance Henderson, the national brand ambassador of Hendrick’s Gin, said. “We at Hendrick’s prefer milder forms of exertion coupled with intellectual stimulation, complemented by a delicious cocktail.”

But nowhere else on the stationary fitness market could they find such a bike to suit their taste. So they created Hendrick’s High Wheel, of which just three bikes are available for purchase.

The iron-framed penny-farthing-style stationary bike sits on its own patch of artificial grass adorned with rose petals, a nod to the gin’s rose and cucumber flavor. Two front curly-cues give off a Santa’s Sleigh vibe, and a golden fender carved with roses and cucumbers creates add to the air of majesty.

Climb up to the Rideable Bicycle Replicas seat with the help of four cucumber-shaped steps, and pedal away—the pedals are mounted to the 48-inch Grand Wheel which operates via direct drive, like a real penny farthing. The Grand Wheel has no resistance, allowing riders to break “the ever-so-lightest of sweats,” and because there is no braking mechanism to stop the wheel, we recommend keeping your tiger on his leash if you decide to pedal fervently, just in case. Pedaling input powers a headlight, which allows you to exercise safely, even if the lights in your exercise ballroom are off.

In lieu of a screen, the Hendrick’s High Wheel has a book stand for your favorite novel, or maybe some sheet music so you can practice your flute. The saddle is adjustable up and down as well as to different angles to accommodate a range of classy riders.

Mounted to the dainty, narrow handlebar is a horn, presumably for letting the rest of your household know that you are riding, or maybe for alerting your butler that you need another cocktail. Put that cocktail in the handlebar-mounted water-bottle holder, or keep up to a 1-liter bottle of water within reach. The whole unit weighs just under 150 pounds, and takes up a 38.5-inch by 76-inch area of floor space.

It’s a bike so classy, it almost makes us want to give up our Zwift accounts, too. Almost.

Okay fine, maybe you just want a regular stationary bike...
