Debuting on June 30, The Wheel will focus on American Cuisine with locally sourced ingredients "in an industrial chic, waterfront setting." Operating hours are Wednesday through Friday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Wheel will draw upon The Village's food and beverage "ecosystem" — such as Cisco Brewers, a rooftop garden and sourcing initiative, a tequila bar, and pop-up experiences including a celebrity chef program and private event spaces — to create a unique culinary profile and experience for guests.

Chefs and farmers will work hand in hand at The Wheel with hospitality management company APICII and Village Chief Food Curator, Mike Geller, according to a news release. Geller is the owner of Mike's Organic, which is based in Stamford.

APICII, which designed the concept for The Wheel, is a developer and operator of a collection of restaurants, bars, event spaces, private clubs and co-working venues throughout North America, including Casa Apicii in New York City, The Bath Club in Miami Beach and The Hotel Figueroa in Los Angeles.

Executive Chef Chris Shea, who serves as APICII's Culinary Director, will lead the kitchen. Shea has also been the executive chef at David Burke Kitchen and The Wayfarer.

The restaurant will use fresh ingredients from over 40 local farmers, fisherman and purveyors to create an ever-changing menu. At the heart of its open kitchen will be a hearth oven used to roast meats, fish and vegetables, as well as to bake Neapolitan-style pizzas.

The "From The Hearth" section of the menu features items such as "Brick Chicken" (Cisco beer-brined D'Artagnan chicken, Lakeside Farm broccolini, red chili, house basil, lemon) and Diavolo Pizza (Jacuterie soppressata, pickled peppers, mozzarella, pecorino), among other pizza options.

Beverage Director Kyle Tran will lead The Wheel's extensive beverage program, which showcases handcrafted, seasonal cocktails mixed with fresh produce, hand-squeezed juices, and house-made tinctures, syrups and infusions. The Wheel will also offer top New and Old World wines along with a large selection of locally brewed craft beers on tap, with popular domestic and imported options.

Pastry Chef Alessandra Altieri Lopez will offer a menu of house-made pastries and desserts. Her previous experience includes Per Se, Bouchon Bakery, and Payard Pâtisserie & Bistro.

Dessert options include Pistachio Cheesecake (New York-style vanilla cheesecake, pistachio crust, raspberry sauce), the Orange Creamsicle (orange sorbet in orange peel, vanilla bean cream), and S'mores (70% Guanaja chocolate lava cake, toasted marshmallow, graham cracker, cinnamon ice cream) among several other items.

Events can be held in the expansive bar and lounge, casual dining room, and the rustic, waterfront patio. The patio will feature programming throughout the week, with live music, food trucks, happenings at Cisco Brewers, pop-up events and activities, and forthcoming weekend brunch.

"There are so many great things happening in the culinary scene here and we are hoping to bring them all together," said Wheelhouse CEO and founder of The VIllage, Brent Montgomery, in a news release.

"Brent's vision of creating a true community at The Village has been the driving force in crafting the experiences at The Wheel, which are the collaboration of so many talented local entertainers, artists, craftsmen, culinarians, farmers and purveyors," added APICII Founder and CEO, Tom Dillon, in the news release.

"At the heart of The Wheel is our desire to create a welcoming place for people of all backgrounds and ages to gather, share and celebrate. Our highly seasonal menus are heavily influenced by The Village's rooftop garden as well as our partnership with Mike Geller and so many local purveyors to offer an ever-evolving experience in this unique waterfront location."
