A University of Michigan graduate hopes to win big cash and prizes on “Wheel of Fortune.” Toni Washington will spin the big wheel on tonight’s episode, Friday, May 14.
Washington, who is originally from Detroit, graduated a Wolverine in 2002. She currently works in medical sales and teaches dance in her free time.
Washington moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and lives there with her husband and their two daughters. She says she and her younger sister would watch “Wheel of Fortune” many nights together while in college at U of M. “Watching Wheel is one of our favorite sister-bonding activities,” said Washington.
And even with her sister still living in Detroit, Washington says the two have kept the tradition going by watching together now over the phone.
After years of tuning in and solving puzzles at home, Washington finally applied to be a contestant online and then was invited to participate in a virtual audition. “Receiving the invitation to audition was especially memorable because I’ve always wanted to be on the show.”
You can audition to be a contestant on “Wheel of Fortune” by submitting an application here. If selected to be on the show, everyone goes home with a minimum of $1,000.
