A historic win on "Wheel of Fortune" almost ended in disaster.
Laura Trammell, a resident of Mission Viejo, Calif., made history Tuesday night by becoming the first contestant to ever win a home during the bonus round, but her moment was almost overshadowed after a celebratory confetti cannon hit Vanna White on the head.
"Vanna was running across the stage, and the confetti came out, and you got whacked in the head by a clump of confetti," host Pat Sajak said. The legendary hostess graciously replied, "Thank goodness, it wasn't my eye."
Here's what happened.
Trammell entered the bonus round with $23,690 in prize money already under her belt. Only seven blanks stood between her and an additional prize from the envelope wheel, which Sajak said could be anything from a car to $100,000 or even a new house in honor of "Home Sweet Home" week.

The sixth grade teacher correctly solved the four-word phrase: "I caught a glimpse."
Sajak revealed her gold home envelope and responded, "She caught a glimpse of her new home," a brand new $375,000 house in the Latitude Margaritaville community.
This marks the first time a contestant has won a home on "Wheel of Fortune," which partnered with Minto Communities and Margaritaville for the 2,000 square-foot prize.
Trammell was speechless. Sajak added, "This is just nuts." After commercial break and after she regained her composure, Trammell said she was "beyond excited, I'm still in shock. I still can't believe it just happened."

In all of the excitement, however, White got "whacked in the head" by a confetti cannon projectile that went off in celebration of Trammell's historic win. Although the moment wasn't caught on camera, you can see White clutching her head while crossing the stage.
"You could’ve put your eye out!" Sajak said.
Thankfully, White walked away without injury and Trammell walked away with a total of $398,690 in prizes.
