Last month, Ford Authority reported that the 2021 Ford Bronco and 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor would be sharing a wheel design, albeit with a few minor changes to differentiate them. At the time, however, we didn’t have any photos of the Raptor wheel design to share just yet. Now, we have acquired some photos of this new F-150 Raptor wheel design, which confirms that they are indeed nearly identical to those found on the Ford Bronco.
The design we’re referring to is the Bronco’s 17-inch black high-gloss painted aluminum, beadlock-capable wheel that comes standard with the Sasquatch Package, as well as the Wildtrak and First Edition trims. The latter wheels are the same basic design but feature gloss black-painted beauty rings and centers.
The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor wheel, on the other hand, replaces the warm alloy outer beauty ring present on the Bronco wheel with a silver one, and the Raptor version of the wheel also features beadlocks across the entire circumference – far more than what is present on the Bronco version of the wheel.
This wheel design is different from the one we’ve seen in all of the 2021 F-150 Raptor press photos so far, which is a new design unique to the model. As we previously reported, the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will also be available with either 35-inch or, for the first time, 37-inch, specially-designed BFGoodrich all-terrain T/A K02 tires.
The 2021 Ford Bronco is currently scheduled to enter production at the Ford Michigan Assembly Plant on May 3rd, with the first deliveries beginning sometime this summer. Meanwhile, the 2021 F-150 Raptor will be built at the Ford Dearborn Truck Plant and will be available in showrooms this summer. As always, these dates are subject to change, especially in light of the ongoing global semiconductor chip shortage.
