Paula Robertson & Associates

On Tuesday, April 27, Laura Trammell of Mission Viejo, California, became the first person to ever win a brand-new home on Wheel of Fortune.

In an expansion of their long-time relationship, America’s Game has partnered with Minto Communities and Margaritaville to add a home envelope to the Bonus Wheel giving all contestants appearing during “Home Sweet Home” week, April 26-30, the opportunity to win a new home valued at $375,000 in Latitude Margaritaville, a 55-and-better active adult community.

“It was truly a surprise," said Trammel when asked about when she first learned she would be eligible to win a home on the show. "I couldn’t believe it when I heard it.”

Trammell is married with four kids. In her conversation with Pat Sajak, she mentioned she is a sixth grade teacher who recently learned American Sign Language and now teaches it to her students. She was inspired to learn by members of her family and a former student who are deaf.

“I am thrilled beyond belief and I’m so grateful for this opportunity,” Trammell said. “It’s amazing.”

The first person she planned to tell of the win was her husband, Dave. Immediately following the taping, Trammell called him to share the news.

“Oh my God," He responded. "Wow! You went on Wheel and you won a home? You’re awesome."

The couple plans to tour some Latitude Margaritaville communities in May to solidify their plans. In total, Trammell won $398,690 in cash and prizes including a trip to Margaritaville Vacation Club St. Thomas.

In conjunction with the week of shows, viewers will once again be given the opportunity to win a new home of their own with the “Home Sweet Home Giveaway.” To enter, all viewers have to do is tune in to Wheel of Fortune each night April 26-30, take note of the Bonus Round puzzle solution and input it at www.wheeloffortune.com for an entry. Winners will be chosen at random.

Servicing Wheel Bearing Seals - Tire Review

wheel.indah.link

Wheel bearings have to operate under both vacuum and pressure. As a bearing heats up due to friction or braking action, pressure builds up inside the hub. As the bearing cools down, vacuum or negative pressure is created. Pressure has to be managed so the grease stays in under pressure and contaminants stay out under vacuum.

If the bearing seal creates too much friction, it can hurt fuel economy by increasing rolling resistance. To reduce friction, many seal manufacturers are using new materials and lip designs to seal the bearing.

As a rule, wheel bearing seals should never leak. Any signs of a current leak or previous leaks are an indication that the seal has failed.

Materials

Some newer seals are fabricated using specialty compounds and proprietary materials. The materials can remain flexible under a wide variety of conditions and won’t be degraded by the grease inside the hub for many miles. The materials are also designed to withstand countless heat cycles.

Some might wonder if the color of the materials makes a difference in the quality of the seal. This is difficult to answer because many suppliers use pigments to dye the material.

Designs

Most seals today are termed “lip seals,” as they have a lip that rides against the outside diameter of a shaft. This “rubber” (nitrile, polyacrylate, silicone, etc.) lip is bonded to a metal shell that fits into the bore of the component to be sealed. A garter spring fits in a groove behind the lip to help it maintain contact with the shaft. Sometimes, there will be a bead of sealer around the outside diameter of the metal shell to help seal it to the bore.

For some seals, the metal shell is completely covered with the same material from which the lip itself is made. Some lip seals include their own integral dust seal, which is a small, additional lip facing the outside of the shell. This small lip has no garter spring. Some bearing seal manufacturers are making seals that can have up to three different lips.

Installation

A seal must always be installed so that the sealing lip is facing the fluid to be sealed. Why? The lip is made so that pressure applied to it from the “wet” side of the seal will increase the pressure it applies to the shaft. If the seal is installed backward, pressure acting on the “wrong” side of the lip will cause it to lift from the shaft, resulting in leakage. On most seals, the correct side is obvious; on others it is not.

Most seals are designed so that the “back” (side that faces the fluid) of the shell is open. The front is closed and may have a part number embossed on it. However, some seal shells are very symmetrical, and careful attention must be paid to the correct direction of the lip.

Some seals are even designed for a specific rotation. They may have an arrow on them to show the rotation. Directional seals may have small diagonal ridges near the lip. The ridges act as miniature “screw threads” to help divert fluid away from the lip as the shaft turns. Some seals are engineered with a sinewave in the lip that resonates a pattern as the shaft turns. This helps squeeze the lip, push pump oil away from it and reduce leakage.

Once the seal is out, check the surfaces of the hub and spindle where the lip rides for damage. If the surface is scored, pitted or otherwise too rough for the new seal, you have several options. Minor scratches or corrosion can often be removed with emery cloth. Nothing coarser than emery cloth should be used to dress up the surface. Sometimes, the lip of a hardened old seal will wear a groove into the sealing surface. If you can catch a fingernail in the groove after polishing the shaft with emery cloth, the groove is too deep and unacceptable. Replacement of the hub or spindle, whatever it is, could be very expensive, both in terms of the cost of the hub and the labor to replace it.

Check the seal itself to determine the cause of failure. If the seal is hard and/or worn, it’s simply a victim of age. If the lip of the seal is extremely soft and swollen, it may be a victim of non-compatible lubricants.

If the seal is relatively new, it may have been incorrectly installed. Installation failures include signs of torn lips, dents from improper installation tools, misalignment, cocked installation, burr damage and a missing garter spring. Careless installation can cause the garter spring to dislodge from its groove. Be sure to also check for signs of heat damage.

Next, make sure you have the correct seal. Check the fit on the shaft and in the housing. Before installing the seal, lubricate the lip with whatever fluid it’s going to work in. If the seal is installed dry, the lip will overheat as soon as the shaft starts turning.

Use a seal installer to tap the new seal in place. If the seal must be installed over a rough part of a shaft (such as splines) to position it where it belongs, wrap masking tape around the rough areas to prevent seal damage. Don’t hammer directly on the seal, and never use a punch or drift to install the seal. Denting of the seal’s shell by the punch can distort the lip and cause the seal to leak. Be sure to start the seal in the bore squarely and also drive it in squarely. Generally, the seal should be tapped in until it is flush. There are some exceptions, so it’s a good idea to check the depth before the old seal is removed.

The best wheel tie down system for your UTV is HERE! | UTVUnderground.com - UTVUnderground.com

Product: Rhino USA UTV Wheel Chock Tie-Down Kit

The quick hit: The Rhino USA UTV Wheel Chock Tie-Down Kit is by far the safest and easiest way to tie-down your UTV and should be installed on every trailer you own! Stop messing around with four or more straps and make loading and unloading your UTV a breeze. This Wheel Chock UTV Tie-Down System comes with all the heavy-duty hardware you need to permanently mount the included front-wheel chocks to your metal or wood trailer. The wheel chocks provide the perfect cradle for your front tires, removing all the guessing when loading and strapping down. The industry standard E Track clip system allows for quick and easy connection of the supplied heavy-duty 2” Rhino USA tie-down straps with padded handles. The UTV Wheel Chock Tie-Down Kit comes with a money-back guarantee, lifetime warranty and is manufactured by an American-owned and operated, family-run business.

rhino usa utv chock tie down kit 016

If you’re like me you have no idea what a “chock” is. Or at least you didn’t until now. I’ve never once said, “Hey put a chock behind that tire!” A “wedge” maybe. Usually, it’s a log – LOL. But it turns out, that is the official name for a plastic or rubber wedge you put behind a tire to keep a vehicle from moving. Having a heavy-duty wheel chock for your truck, UTV or SUV is a really smart idea – but Rhino USA has taken that idea to a whole new level. They have designed a wheel chock kit for the front tires of your UTV (or really any vehicle with 40” tires or less) that permanently mounts to your trailer using E track. What’s E track? How’s this work? Hang with us, because it turns out this is by far the easiest and most reliable way to secure your car, truck UTV, or even lawnmower to your trailer, and it’s built on the best tie-down strap on the planet – the heavy-duty 2” tie-down strap by Rhino USA.

rhino usa utv chock tie down kit 009

For those of you with a heavy-duty trailer with lots of D-rings and attachment points built into your trailer – you might have plenty of ways to tie down a vehicle quickly and safely. But a real common problem for those of us with less expensive wood or aluminum trailers is the lack of tie-down points. People end up putting tie-down hooks in all sorts of places to get some leverage on the car – and that’s simply not safe. The Rhino USA Wheel Chock UTV Tie-Down System solves that problem because it mounts two small sections of E-track on either side of your front wheels. That gives you the perfect tie-down point for your Rhino USA tie-down straps which include E-track fittings. Not to mention by tying down your front wheels you’re letting your vehicle’s suspension move and absorb some of the force created when towing. It’s a safer way to tow, period. The kit contains four (front) wheel chocks which are heavy-duty, powder-coated, indestructible bump stop plates with a built-in E track, a bag of heavy-duty hardware, two heavy-duty 2” tie-down straps, and industrial velcro to hold the excess strap in place.

rhino usa utv chock tie down kit 010

Installation is simple. You simply park your trailer on a flat smooth surface and load your UTV or vehicle onto the trailer like you normally would, making sure you’re as straight as possible and putting the bulk of your vehicle’s weight over the trailer axle. Next place the Rhino USA Wheel Chocks down just in front of and behind your front tires, making sure they are centered on your wheels, and with some chalk or a pencil, mark the location of the chocks. Back your vehicle off the trailer, then replace the chocks using the guides and adjust the placement using a tape measure. Check that your chocks are equal distance from the side and front trailer rails, and each other. Then carefully examine the underside of the trailer as you’re going to be drilling holes through the subfloor and you don’t want to hit anything important. Once you’ve measured and double-checked your positions twice, mark the bolt holes and drill six holes for each of the four chocks. Then simply use the provided bolts, washers, and nuts to lock each chock in place. That’s it! You’re all set. You now have a permanently installed wheel chock and E track for your tie-downs.

We installed this UTV Tie-Down System on two trailers and love it. It removes all the guesswork from loading our UTV’s because when the front tires land inside the chock cradle you know you’re in a perfect position. It then takes about 37 seconds to run the tie-down straps over the tires and tighten the load. We’re on the road with the AC running while other dudes are still working on attaching strap number four to their loads. One minor gripe is that on our wood trailer we needed bigger washers than those supplied, just to be safe – but getting $20 worth of hardware, to begin with, is pretty damn cool.

rhino usa utv chock tie down kit 015

One important point – if you run multiple machines on the same trailer you will have to keep the width of your machine, or wheel offset in mind. Your 4-seat running 33’s may not line up with your Ranger crew running 27’s. Actually it won’t, there’s no “might not” about it. So keep that in mind. Can you mount more than one set of UTV Wheel Chock Tie-Downs on the same trailer though? Absolutely. You could run three if you need one for the kids 170 too!

The Rhino USA UTV Tie-Down System has a guaranteed max break strength of nearly two thousand pounds and includes everything you need to install it on a wood or metal trailer. And remember Rhino USA is American owned – they’re a family-run business and they offer a lifetime warranty on everything they sell. If you have any questions about the installation process you can pick up the phone and actually call the guys over at Rhino and they’ll answer all your questions. So head over to Rhinousainc.com OR ask for the Rhino USA UTV Wheel Chock Tie-Down Kit at your local off-road shop. Tow safe and we’ll see you guys in the dirt!

Vanna White hit with confetti after ‘Wheel of Fortune’ bonus round - Today.com

wheel.indah.link

Call it an unexpected hazard of the job.

“Wheel of Fortune’s” Vanna White was hit in the head with confetti that came pouring down on Thursday’s show after the contestant won a new house by solving the puzzle in the bonus round.

After Pat Sajak revealed contestant Laura Trammell had won a home valued at $375,000 as part of the show's "Home Sweet Home" theme this week, confetti came streaming down from the ceiling. White was walking across the stage when some of it got her in the face.

After the show came back from a commercial break to wrap up the episode, Sajak let viewers in on what happened.

April 11, 201801:07

“First thing I have to tell you that when you won, Vanna was running across the stage and the confetti came out and you got whacked in the head by a clump of confetti,” he said.

“Right in the head,” she said. “Thank goodness it wasn’t my eye.”

“You could’ve put your eye out!” Sajak said.

“I know!” she replied.

Nov. 9, 201900:42

Dangerous encounters with confetti aside, Thursday’s episode marked a landmark moment for “Wheel of Fortune” when Trammell became the first person in the show’s history to win a house.

“I’m beyond excited. I’m still in shock,” Trammell said as the episode drew to a close. “I still can’t believe it just happened.”

The confetti incident marks the second dramatic moment in the final round this month. You may recall Sajak accidentally revealed the puzzle, although no one caught the snafu.

"But it goes to show you that people are concentrating and they're not paying any attention to me," he said afterward.

A Letter from the Wheel's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force - The Emory Wheel

wheel.indah.link

Almost a year ago, this newspaper acknowledged its lack of diversity, longstanding inequity and barriers to accessibility since its inception in 1919. We vowed that we had a responsibility to uplift and support diverse voices within our newsroom and nationwide.

Student journalists operate in a strange space between collegiate and professional worlds, and those at the Wheel are no exception. We often find ourselves reporting on our classmates or breaking news that drastically alters our own academic experiences. Our excessive focus on content production rates and antiquated journalistic standards, however, has contributed to high burnout, low retention rates and high levels of distrust among marginalized campus communities. If we are to truly and effectively better ourselves as a news organization, these issues must be addressed with specific and swift solutions to prevent further harm.

The first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force convened in November 2020, consisting of the Wheel’s then-editor-in-chief, executive board and other editors who chose to join. Our initial attempts to enact change were rocky: we faced collective action problems, burnout from members of the Task Force and disagreement over strategies to implement change. In the months since, however, the Task Force successfully executed a number of changes detailed below.

To address staff concerns about burnout, the Wheel will take a hiatus from publishing editorial content from April 28 to June 7. During this time, we will only publish a select number of breaking news stories, community op-eds and other pieces on a non-regular basis. This extended break is designed to give our editors and writers, who often put over 15 hours per week into the Wheel, time to recuperate. This hiatus will also allow the DEI Task Force to focus exclusively on planning actionable steps for the summer and following year.

A report of this nature will become a regular occurrence, with the next one following our hiatus at the beginning of June.

Stipends for low-income editors

The Wheel currently does not pay all of its editors a wage that compensates their immense time and effort. Any editor position is incredibly demanding, often taking as much time as a part-time job, which can mean foregoing paid employment. The lack of pay is due to budgetary constraints as a student organization that is financially independent from the University. However, the Wheel must work to eliminate this barrier for low-income students and students who work.

In response to concerns about the Wheel’s demanding time commitment for students who cannot afford to take on leadership roles without pay, the Task Force implemented a stipend for low-income editors. At the start of this semester, those who felt they needed financial assistance could submit a request for a $250 stipend. While this stipend does not adequately compensate editors for the time they put into the Wheel, it represents a long-overdue first step in compensating our low-income editors.

The Task Force plans to continue the stipend program this fall and will seek additional funding for expansion through a summer fundraiser.

Changes to the Wheel’s Constitution

The Wheel’s Board of Editors voted on April 2 to amend its constitution to clarify the definition of a staff member, more clearly define who is eligible to vote in editor-in-chief elections and codify the role of the DEI Task Force.

During the most recent election for editor-in-chief in February, former editors protested that they had been excluded from the eligible voter list for arbitrary reasons. In response to these complaints, the Task Force created constitutional changes that expanded voter eligibility. Former editors, Editorial Board members, DEI Task Force members are now all allowed to vote in editor-in-chief elections. Additionally, any Wheel member who believes they should be allowed to vote can appeal directly to the editor-in-chief. The Task Force also expanded the definition of staff writer to include more Wheel contributors by lowering the contribution requirement to five per semester and one in each subsequent semester to maintain the position.

Demographic report

The Wheel published its first demographic report on April 2 detailing the composition of the Wheel’s staff during the 2020-21 school year as of February 2021. We believe that having accurate data on who is part of the organization holds us accountable for how we can and must improve. The survey was sent to all individuals who contributed to the Wheel since August 2020  in writing, editing, photography or illustrations.

Funding for affinity journalism organization memberships

The Wheel will fund 10 memberships to affinity journalism organizations, such as the National Association of Black Journalists, the Asian American Journalists Association, National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Native American Journalist Association and the Association of LGBT Journalists. Affinity journalism organizations are incredibly useful for student journalists seeking mentorship and looking to break into a competitive industry, especially for communities who face additional barriers. Any member of the Emory community interested in journalism is welcome to apply, regardless of their relationship with the Wheel.

Restructuring recruitment

In the past, recruitment has occurred only at the beginning of each semester, and largely relied on personal relationships with Wheel members or attendance at the student activities fair. As our demographic report revealed, these recruitment measures did not go far enough and often excluded underrepresented communities. Going forward, we have adapted our efforts to actively recruit members throughout the year by advertising frequently on social media and targeting academic department listservs.

We have also revamped and streamlined our onboarding process. Designated editors will help new members get acclimated to the Wheel and we plan to create a mentorship program for new writers. In doing so, we aim to proactively tackle deficits in our work culture while diversifying our staff and improving the breadth and depth of our coverage.

Reexamining our coverage

As the opinion section’s “1963” investigative project released in February revealed, our coverage has historically excluded communities of color or even outright harmed them. Articles featuring white nationalists, sexist coverage and hate speech have graced the Wheel’s archives. “1963” was a first step in uncovering decades-old untold stories and bringing attention to inequities on our campus.

Going forward, this Task Force commits to continuing these efforts and alleviate areas of underrepresentation. Such endeavors include analyzing our own problematic practices within editing such as code-switching which can alienate marginalized communities, and expanding our coverage to uplift minority voices. We will reexamine the composition of our writing and editorial staff, where we solicit sources and what stories we write. We hope to reform our paper, in both our everyday coverage and larger projects like “1963,” so that underrepresented groups do not get left out of our pages.

The DEI Task Force is composed of Abby Williams, Anjali Huynh, Ben Thomas, Brammhi Balarajan, Cailen Chinn, Caroline Silva, Gabriella Lewis, Isaiah Poritz, Jada Chambers, Jessica Solomon, Ryan Callahan, Rachel Broun and Sara Perez.

'Wheel of Fortune' Fans "Screamed" After Seeing a Huge Historic Moment on the Show This Week - GoodHousekeeping.com

wheel.indah.link

On Tuesday’s episode of Wheel of Fortune, cohost Pat Sajak asked contestant Laura Trammell to spin the bonus wheel. Little did everyone know at the time that she was about to make history.

With 10 seconds on the clock and $23,690 already in her pocket, Laura focused all her attention on the puzzle board. Almost immediately, she figured out the phrase, “I caught a glimpse.”

“That’s it, she caught a glimpse, she caught a glimpse of her new home,” Pat said. He then showed the envelope he was holding. In a historic Wheel of Fortune moment, Laura became the first person ever to win a new home on the show. The house Laura won is valued at $375,000 in Latitude Margaritaville, a retirement community in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“This is just nuts,” Pat added. He and his fellow cohost Vanna White later congratulated Laura again. When asked how she was feeling, the contestant was still in awe of her prize, made possible through a partnership with Minto Communities and Margaritaville for “Home Sweet Home” week.

“I’m beyond excited,” she said. “I’m still in shock. I still can’t believe it just happened.”

“Congratulations. I literally screamed on the top of my lungs when she won a home 🏡. Enjoy your new place,” one person said. “Very exciting episode!! Congrats Laura đŸŽ‰đŸŸđŸŽ‰đŸŸ,” another added. “A house as a prize in Wheel of Fortune? Anything new can happen in the history of the show,” a different follower said. “Wow what a win, and I believe this is the first time the confetti [was] released for something other than a $100,000/$1,000,000 winner. This was very exciting to see,” another fan said.

In addition to winning a new home, Laura also earned $398,690 in cash and prizes, including a trip to the Margaritaville Vacation Club in St. Thomas.

Honda's '22 Civic Refines Instead of Reinvents the Wheel - Ward's Auto

wheel.indah.link

With the new ’22 Civic sedan, Honda isn’t trying to reinvent the compact car. Compared to previous Civic redesigns, most recently the still-polarizing 10th-generation model that debuted for the ’16 model year, the ’22 is mild instead of wild.

At a glance, it resembles a Honda Accord, sparking instant familiarity. The ’22 Civic sedan also represents a heavy reworking of the existing car’s platform, with structural upgrades, improved safety architecture, more efficient powertrains and substantially enhanced technology.

But don’t assume this is more a refresh than a redesign, because based on our firsthand experience doing everything but driving the ’22 Civic, it deserves its status as one of America’s best-selling cars (by retail sales).

Simple forms and minimalist style shape the sheet metal, accommodating a 1.4-in. (36-mm) wheelbase and windshield pillars moved back 2.0 ins. (51 mm). The hood is taller and flatter, improving pedestrian safety in a collision, while a wider rear track gives the car a planted stance.

The interior adopts a new “Simplicity and Something” design approach. The overarching goal is to make the Civic’s quality switchgear easy to operate and its displays easy to reference. But the car needs a little “something” to surprise and delight its owner. In the 11th-gen Civic, that element is the textured metal trim running the length of the car’s dashboard and extending into the door panels, onto which Honda deftly and cleanly integrates the air vents.

Honda upgrades the infotainment systems for this latest iteration. With LX, Sport (pictured above, left) and EX grades, the standard setup has a 7-in. (18-cm) touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and knobs to control volume and tuning. The Civic Touring gets an exclusive 9-in. (23-cm) high-definition touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging and navigation.

The Touring trim also equips the ’22 Civic with a new 12-speaker Bose Centerpoint premium sound system designed specifically for this vehicle and its acoustics. It sounded great as we sat in a motionless Civic parked inside a studio; whether this impression holds on the road remains to be seen.

Honda Sensing is a collection of advanced driving-assistance systems, and new single-camera technology provides a broader field of view in the ’22 Civic. Upgraded processors and software enhance system response, accuracy and smoothness for more refined operation. With the Touring model, new Traffic Jam Assist technology pairs adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assistance technology. This top-shelf version of the Civic also has low-speed braking control to prevent low-speed collisionswhile parking or inching along in traffic.

Previously, the Civic offered a camera-based LaneWatch technology that worked only for the right side of the car. For ’22, the Civic gets a radar-based blindspot warning system that works for both sides of the vehicle. However, Honda restricts this safety feature to EX and Touring trim, and only the Civic Touring gets a rear cross-traffic warning.

Powertrains carry over from before, but with modifications. The Civic LX and Sport have a 2.0L 4-cyl. generating 158 hp at 6,500 rpm and 138 lb.-ft. (187 Nm) of torque at 4,200 rpm. It adds automatic engine stop/start for the ’22 model year, improving fuel economy to 33 mpg (7.1 L/100 km) in combined driving in Sport grades and 35 mpg (6.7 L/100 km) with the base Civic LX.

The EX and Touring use a turbocharged 1.5L 4-cyl. making 180 hp at 6,000 rpm and 177 lb.-ft. (240 Nm) of torque between 1,700 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The engine is a little more potent than before and adds Honda’s Variable Timing and lift Electronic Control (VTEC) for the exhaust valves. The turbocharged engine is more fuel-efficient than the standard 2.0L, posting EPA estimates of 34 mpg (6.9 L/100 km) in combined driving for the Touring and 36 mpg (6.5 L/100 km) for the EX.

Both engines employ a continuously variable transmission with improved step-shift programming to make it feel and sound more natural when the car accelerates. The LX and EX offer Normal and Eco driving modes, while the Sport and Touring add a Sport mode and paddle shifters that give a driver more control over the transmission’s ratios.

Honda also refines the  compact's ride and handling with increased structural rigidity, retuned steering and a reworked suspension. According to Honda, road shock and noise are down, too, by as much as 20%.

The '22 Civic goes on sale this summer.

Civic Sport's 2.0L 4-cyl. makes 158 hp, 138 lb.-ft. of torque and engine stop/start improves fuel economy to 33 mpg combined.

"Wheel of Fortune" fans sparred on Twitter after a contestant lost a victory over a minor technicality. USA TODAY

A historic win on "Wheel of Fortune" almost ended in disaster.

Laura Trammell, a resident of Mission Viejo, Calif., made history Tuesday night by becoming the first contestant to ever win a home during the bonus round, but her moment was almost overshadowed after a celebratory confetti cannon hit Vanna White on the head.

"Vanna was running across the stage, and the confetti came out, and you got whacked in the head by a clump of confetti," host Pat Sajak said. The legendary hostess graciously replied, "Thank goodness, it wasn't my eye."

Here's what happened.

Trammell entered the bonus round with $23,690 in prize money already under her belt. Only seven blanks stood between her and an additional prize from the envelope wheel, which Sajak said could be anything from a car to $100,000 or even a new house in honor of "Home Sweet Home" week.

The sixth grade teacher correctly solved the four-word phrase: "I caught a glimpse."

Sajak revealed her gold home envelope and responded, "She caught a glimpse of her new home," a brand new $375,000 house in the Latitude Margaritaville community.

This marks the first time a contestant has won a home on "Wheel of Fortune," which partnered with Minto Communities and Margaritaville for the 2,000 square-foot prize.

Trammell was speechless. Sajak added, "This is just nuts." After commercial break and after she regained her composure, Trammell said she was "beyond excited, I'm still in shock. I still can't believe it just happened."

In all of the excitement, however, White got "whacked in the head" by a confetti cannon projectile that went off in celebration of Trammell's historic win. Although the moment wasn't caught on camera, you can see White clutching her head while crossing the stage.

"You could’ve put your eye out!" Sajak said.

Thankfully, White walked away without injury and Trammell walked away with a total of $398,690 in prizes.

Fanatec’s CSL DD is a low-cost direct drive wheel base - Motorsport.com, Edition: Global

wheel.indah.link

Fanatec has launched a brand-new steering wheel base, the CSL DD.

The German sim racing equipment manufacturer is renowned for its high-end direct drive technology that delivers enhanced feedback to the driver. Its previous ‘CSL’ offering was the CSL Elite, which provided a more cost-effective way of jumping into the Fanatec ecosystem.

Unlike the CSL Elite, however, the CSL DD does not utilise belt-drive single drive force feedback, but rather obviously, direct drive.

Direct drive wheels are mounted straight to the motor shaft, reducing drivetrain loss. This has historically been reserved for the Fanatec Podium range of wheel bases. At present, the Podium Wheel Base DD1 is €1,199.95 and the DD2 €1,499.95 without a wheel.

The CSL DD is priced at a much more reasonable $349.95 / €349.95, a gargantuan saving. However, the forces it outputs are, as expected, significantly lower. Standard peak torque is 5 Nm, with the Optional Boost Kit 180 increasing that to 8 Nm. 5 Nm is actually lower than some belt-driven competitors, but in theory direct drive should offer a distinct feeling.

As a comparison, the Podium DD1 manages 20 Nm of force, the DD2 25 Nm. However, the CSL DD is available for use with an optional table clamp, something that will increase accessibility and is not something possible with the high-force direct drive wheels.

The device is significantly smaller than existing direct drive devices, thanks to an all-new motor design that uses a carbon fibre composite motor shaft. It also features an upgradable quick release system and USB-C port, ready for the upcoming QR2 system.

While the device is compatible with PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series, it does not work with PlayStation devices and “and cannot be upgraded to achieve compatibility.” However, in the past, Fanatec has made Sony-specific versions of its products and while not confirmed, the company did say to us it expects a future product to fill this gap.

The CSL DD is compatible with the following Fanatec products:

• Fanatec Podium Steering Wheels
• Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheels
• Fanatec CSL Steering Wheels
• All Fanatec Pedals (adapter cables might be required on pedals without RJ12 connection)
• Fanatec ClubSport Shifters (including ClubSport Static Shifter Paddles)
• Fanatec ClubSport Handbrake V1 and V1.5
• Fanatec RennSport Cockpits
• ClubSport Table Clamp V2
• CSL DD Table Clamp
• Boost Kit 180
• Podium Mounting Brackets (the CSL DD includes M6 T-nuts for side-mounting; the Podium Mounting Brackets require the use of M6 bolts and washers)

There is no release date yet and pricing for the optional Boost Kit 180 and table clamp is yet to be confirmed.

The crash happened in the late afternoon, near the Morongo Indian Reservation, sending two people in the Subaru to the hospital with major injuries.

In a failure that’s still being investigated, a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound apparently lost a pair of wheels that had come detached from the axle. Those wheels continued traveling east on the freeway.

The pair of wheels had enough speed to bounce over the center and slammed the top of a Subaru Forester that was traveling west. The CHP said it will conduct an investigation into why the axle failed.

The CHP’s Facebook post made no mention of how fast the vehicles were traveling, but one could only imagine the forces involved. The Subaru’s passengers are both expected to survive. This shows that it pays to be aware of your surroundings while driving. You never know what could happen.
