Fast forward to this day, Gushi is now driving a 800 HP drift spec Toyota GR Supra, and for once, he wanted to have his dad experience the car as well. Ken's father, Tsukasa, also has a rather expensive motorsports background, as he used to compete in both motorcycle and rally racing back in the day.
He is no complete stranger to drifting either, as he even competed in Formula Drift in a RWD converted Subaru WRX, next to Rod Millen. Sadly, he never managed to qualify in the Top16 format at the time, as the upcoming young drivers were viciously fighting for the top places in the championship.
Before actually letting his father get behind the wheel, Gushi does a demo run to show him how everything works like. The course of choice is Apple Valley Speedway, and although this is not a circuit that is registered in the pro championship, it's still good enough to have the rear tires spinning through the first few gears.
As opposed to what other pro drifters have done to their MKV Supras, Ken Gushi has decided to stay true to the original B58, turbo inline-6 engine, although now using a RUN BC stroker kit. Sure, we weren't expecting his dad to run the course at the same level as his son, but it's still cool to see him dealing with the car without panicking in any way.
