KAVITA Khanna attended the Shift Focus Film School launch recently. The founder of the school is multiple national-award winner Arunaraje Patil. Kavita’s husband, the late actor Vinod Khanna, was the star of Patil’s film ‘Rihaee’. The two women reminisced about how Vinod Khanna had left home and hearth, and a thriving career, and moved to Oregon to join Osho Rajneesh for four years. Kavita said when she asked him about it, “Vinod always said, just sit and let the grass grow”. The late actor had given funds to Arunaraje when her film was not taking off – so they spoke about how he paid for his own films sometimes.

are sending our warmest wishes to Mumbai’s beloved beauty, the silver-maned cocktail-dressed Monica Vaziralli. Monica, who had been spending the last few months at her swishy Alibaug home, met with a terrible accident a few days ago. She was rushed to a hospital in Alibaug where she spent a couple of days, before being brought to a Mumbai hospital. Monica is now back home. We wish her a speedy recovery.► A new shade

auction house Sotheby’s latest sale in London highlighted some fabulous works by Indian modern masters. The sale included the works of the art world’s current poster-boy VS Gaitonde, along with SH Raza and Bhupen Khakhar. The sale also marked a paradigm shift in Khakhar’s career, as one of its highlights was a tiny 3X3 foot work going for Rs 20 crore. (Interestingly, Khakhar’s retrospective at UK’s Tate a few years back was panned by British critics). The Gaitonde, on the other hand, remained unsold.

lockdown blues are being chased away with the news of the high-profile engagement of Aditya Khanna – the son of beauty blogger Shagun Khanna and businessman and sometime politician Arvind Khanna. Arvind is related to and was once the blue-eyed boy of Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, and the man everyone wanted to get to know, until of course his growing proximity and friendship to Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal. Interestingly, Arvind’s son Aditya is now engaged into another famous Punjab family – fiancée Tanya Chadha is the niece of late businessman Ponty Chadha.► Tailpiece
A New Delhi socialite and her moneybags husband (best known for hiding money in bags, we mean) have been flirting with arrest for a few years now. But before the law caught up with them, we hear the duo escaped to Dubai. Just before the lockdown was announced, the couple moved lock, stock and kids. We are still waiting for them to post pictures from their resort holidays.
