America’s #1 game show Wheel of Fortune gets a sweet twist this season. Redesigned with safety measures in place, Wheel of Fortune season 38 returned this month. Amped with an upgraded wheel and six feet of space between legendary host Pat Sajak, the reality TV classic didn’t let the virus put a damper on its fun factor. As well, a few more fun twists, including a sweet collaboration with popular phone game Cookie Jam, is making the Wheel of Fortune wins taste even sweeter.

With over 7000+ episodes and 7 Emmy Awards (including the 2011 Emmy for Outstanding Game Show), Wheel of Fortune changed the way America looked at game shows. The show started up way back in 1975. The Hangman-inspired game also earned Pat Sajak the title of longest-running game show host in 2019. With lots of episodes for Sajak to host until his contract expires in 2022, the show came out looking a bit different to suit the 'new normal'. The famed wheel got a makeover and contestants each got a spinning cap, which Sajak seems to have dubbed “The White Thing.” The Wheel of Fortune keeps spinning in spite of a touch-me-not policy. Then there’s the scrapped live audience. Amidst all these historical changes to the classic format, Wheel of Fortune is also indulging its sweet tooth in some Cookie Jam. Here’s what the epic cross-platform integration looks like when it's paired with the spin and the signature sounds of 'the Wheel'.

A recent episode saw Pat and Vanna White host the first Cookie Jam collab episode of Wheel of Fortune, starting with a Food and Drink Category for a $1000 Toss-Up. Three contestants tried out their luck in “America’s Game”, trying to win a $10,000 cash prize sponsored by the 'free to play' puzzle mobile game. To reward its loyal audience, Wheel of Fortune is also offering the same cash prize for those watching at home, with a delicious “Make Life Sweeter Giveaway” each night for the rest of the week. The show has decided to treat all of its 27 million weekly viewers to $10k by getting them to test their own sweet knowledge on the official website, following the Bonus Puzzle round.

John Makley from Los Angeles turned out to be the smartest cookie on this recent Wheel of Fortune episode, by taking home prizes worth $23,560, including an $8,600 trip to St. Lucia.

It sure is fun to watch an evergreen game show like Wheel of Fortune keep reinventing itself via such tempting collaborations. It makes the show experience a happier one for contestants, and the reward that awaits the fans at home at the end adds excitement. Now, that’s exactly what a win-win situation looks like, doesn’t it? Be sure to tune into Wheel of Fortune to check out changes to the show.
