Emporia Fire crews took one person to Newman Regional Health for treatment after a wreck in Chase County on Thursday.
The crash happened shortly before 8:30 am near Kansas Turnpike mile marker 112 northbound, or very close to the Bazaar cattle pens exit. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 30-year-old Clinton Galton of Roeland Park apparently fell asleep at the wheel. The car briefly left the highway Galton overcorrected, sending the car back off the highway where it rolled into a ditch.
Galton had suspected minor injuries afterward. Troopers say he was wearing his seatbelt and was the only person in the car.
