The GMC Sierra Heavy Duty truck line received a complete overhaul (redesign and re-engineering) for the 2020 model year, ushering in an all-new fourth generation. Now, the upcoming 2021 GMC Sierra HD is set to bring a few minor changes, including new wheel options, two of which are featured here.
20-inch high-gloss Black aluminum wheels with machined accents (SKX)
20-inch multi-dimensional Chrome aluminum (SKW)
The first of these two new roller options is a 20-inch high-gloss Black aluminum wheel with machined accents, tagged with RPO code SKX. The second is a 20-inch multi-dimensional Chrome aluminum wheel tagged with RPO code SKW.
Both new wheel options are offered on 2500HD and 3500HD variants of the 2021 GMC Sierra HD. Both are available as LPO items, which means they are available to order with the vehicle and installed by the dealer, or available as accessories after the vehicle sale. When ordered with the vehicle, the truck will come equipped with four aluminum 20-inch wheels from the factory, with alignment set to the 20-inch LPO wheel specs for installation by the dealer.
Both of these 2021 GMC Sierra HD wheel options require LT275/65R20 all-terrain blackwall tires (RPO code QF9), and are not available with wheel locks (RPO code SFE).
The new 2021 GMC Sierra HD wheels will be available in Q4 of 2020.
As a reminder, the 2021 GMC Sierra HD is offered with two engine and transmission configurations, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gas engine, which produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, mating to the six-speed automatic (MYD) transmission, and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, which produces 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque, and mates to the 10-speed automatic (MGM, MGU) transmission. Under the skin is a more capable version of the GM T1 platform.
