BRIDGEWATER — A Madison County teenager suffered minor injuries after law enforcement officials said both driver and passenger fell asleep in a moving vehicle Thursday morning.
Sheriff’s deputies said Marshall Fire-Hoke, 17, of Leonardsville, was eastbound on Route 20 in Bridgewater Thursday when he fell asleep behind the wheel. Deputies said the 2001 Honda drifted across the oncoming lane and went off the north shoulder, where it crashed into an embankment and went over it.
Deputies said passenger Kristy Dowd, 16, of Leonardsville, was sleep at the time of the crash and she suffered minor injuries. She was treated at a local hospital. Deputies said Fire-Hoke was ticketed for failure to keep right and operating out of restrictions. He is scheduled to appear in Town Court.
